After the failure of multiple partisan immigration bills this summer, Congress should now focus on bipartisan legislation that provides solutions for Dreamers and protections for asylum seekers. Bread for the World believes immigration is a hunger issue. Any policy approach to immigration must address hunger issues on both sides of the border while protecting family unity and allowing Dreamers to have access to a reasonable pathway to citizenship.
The bipartisan Uniting and Securing America (USA) Act (H.R. 4796/ S.2367) provides a reasonable pathway to citizenship for 1 million Dreamers and protects Central American migrants seeking refuge in the United States due to violence and food insecurity in their home countries.
Your advocacy is critical to helping ensure immigrants and asylum seekers receive the respect and dignity they deserve.
Tip: Personalized emails have the most impact. Add a note explaining why hunger is important to you.
