After months of threats, the Trump administration has officially moved to cut off aid to Central America’s Northern Triangle—Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
Cutting off aid to Central American countries risks exacerbating migration and increasing hunger and malnutrition. Foreign assistance in these areas is critical. Nearly half of Guatemala’s children are chronically malnourished, along with over 20 percent and nearly 15 percent of children in Honduras and El Salvador, respectively.
Tell Congress to pass the bipartisan United States-Northern Triangle Enhanced Engagement Act (H.R. 2615), which protects foreign aid investments in the Northern Triangle and works to address the underlying causes of migration from the region.
Tip: Personalized emails have the most impact. Add a note explaining why hunger is important to you.
