Since 2012, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program has enabled 800,000 undocumented young adults, often referred to as Dreamers, to come out of the shadows. DACA has allowed them to work, get an education, and give back to their communities and our country without fear of deportation.
The Senate this week will vote on multiple amendments that address immigration. Their decision will either give Dreamers a pathway to citizenship or continue to put them at risk of deportation. Congress must act quickly to protect Dreamers.
